The alarm went off at 3:10am. Through the haze, I drove down to Burleigh Heads, arriving in the still pre-dawn, and clamboured my way over the black boulders into the incoming tide. My shoes and socks got wet so I removed them and stood bare foot in the cold water for an hour. I almost lost the camera when the tripod slipped off a rock and I only managed to catch it by the end of the remote cable. My tripod is full of salt water and needs to be stripped down and cleaned. Totally worth it.
