Eastern Pygmyfly

We picnicked at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens today and came back with a few shots that I'm really happy with. Wednesday and Thursday will be two photos that I think are my best yet. Although it pales in comparison with anything David Kleinert has done, I'm pretty pleased with this image of an Eastern Pygmyfly (Nannophya dalei) resting on a leaf.

• The color of this small insects never cease to amaze me. The red is a nice contrast to the greenish background. My favorite element are all the details in the wings, which look like a glass mosaic.

  Very good detail with a strong red hue. DOF might be a little long? Apart from that its a very good nature shot.
